Computer Critter Chris

From week one to week 6 we had to work on this in my digital imaging class.  We first had to pick a title and with each week, we learned something new.  I started out with a totally different concept, but with a lot of work and  a lot of tweaks, I was able to accomplish this. I took individual parts of a computer to form an actual robot.  I used a monitor for his head, computer fans for his shoulders, a plug for his left arm, a surge protector and a transistor for his right arm, a computer tower for his torso, RAM for his legs, and laptops for his feet.  I then used a motherboard as the background to the picture.  I had to use Photoshop and learned quite a bit through this entire process.  I had to individually cut out, using Photoshop, and merge the layers together to form Chris. I thought it came out rather fascinating.  Don't you agree?

Responses to Last Post...

Well the last post I posted of my semi-final project.  I got some great feedback.  I had self-doubts but overall the class and teacher were very pleased and absolutely loved it.  They gave me a few tweaks that I should do and kind of already wanted to do, so my next post I will show my overall final project.  Wish me luck!  :-)

Texture that gives Illusion of being Textile....

I had to use Photoshop to create texture's.  This was rather fun.  The first was splattered paint brush tool.  The second is a picture of a wave that I have duplicated several times.  The third one is flames.  I created two layers and smudged them.  The last was stars.  I made all different sizes and 'free transformed' them and just kept repeating and repeating.  I really liked this exercise.

Best yet...

My teacher notated that the designs should not be even, balanced, formal...they should be dynamic, uneven, imbalanced, offset, thrusting.  I believe I gave her what she asked for...Isn't this awesome?  This is what i love doing...abstract..

Principles of Contrast

This was rather interesting.  The creating contrast between antonyms was rather interesting...
